Strat-O-Matic Baseball has developed into one of the best head to head games of all time. I remember ordering the game as a teenager and just pacing the house waiting for the cards to arrive by the UPS truck. Every hour seemed like an eternity. When the card set arrived, I would head to my bedroom and lock the door. I would paw through the card set looking for my players.... it was Christmas every  time they arrived. To this day, I still get that same tingling excitement when the cards arrive at my front door. And yes, I still hide myself in the bedroom and sort out the cards for hours!

To me it was much more then a game, it was about developing life-long friendships. Some of the guys who were in my first league have remained true friends to this day.  Some of the best games I remember were a strategy chess match. I love that part of the game... where two managers make moves and counter moves, tinker with lineups, and sometimes just go with "a gut feeling". Just as Strat-O-Matic has developed over the years from that first basic version to the complex advanced version, the strategies used to win also have changed. I remember hearing from so many managers how they just can't compete with the top teams in the league. They felt they were always playing for that one wild card spot in the playoffs. Often we would lose good managers who became frustrated with just treading water. I didn't want to see that trend continue. That is when I developed a strategy guide designed to help managers become more competitive.

What do you suppose would happen if everyone around the country had equal access to the strategies that only the best managers are using now? I truly believe the game play of Strat-O-Matic would substantially increase. Annual "cellar-dwellers" would start winning, individual games would become much closer, and the yearly strato draft would create parity in the league.

I know this guide will improve your team, how you approach the strategy side of baseball, and how you counter-act another manger who uses advanced strategies.
